Sporting Cristal coach Roberto Mosquera analyzed his team’s performance after the defeat against Sport Huancayo for the first date of the Opening Tournament of League 1. The Peruvian strategist assessed the rival and also considered that the light blue team deserved better luck at the end of the match .

A GOAL FROM ANOTHER MATCH

“It is one of the toughest games that we will play in the year. I am not saying that the others are not, it is always a reserved forecast match. I think we had a great first half, their goal (Sport Huancayo) is from another game and has merit. We played with two points, we covered all the spaces, we lost two or three occasions due to precipitation. At height when you recover the ball, it is true that speed is important, but when you reach the area you have to lower the speed levels so that it does not turn into precipitation. We had three very clear chances and the goal came when we least expected it”.

WE DESERVED MORE

“The second half was the same, back and forth. I have congratulated my players because what they have run has been important. I think we deserved more, but I do not detract from Sport Huancayo. For a first game it was good, the return of some players like Olivares, who are far from fit, but they will be. In the second the team suffered with the changes, we were not the same. I also changed the system and that affected. But far from apologizing, Sport Huancayo won and has the necessary merits”.

PHYSICAL DEPLOYMENT AT HEIGHT

We take things slow and more when it has become clear what we have run. What we have run, at times excited me, we ran at 3,200 (meters high) It is not normal. Not only because of what we ran, but also because of what we played in the first half, I think we deserved more, but football is not about deserving, you have to score goals”.

CHANGE OF SYSTEM AND THE SCHOOL

Each rival is a different storyNow we have a more compact team with more possibilities on the bench. We are going to try to plan (the games) according to the rival that we have to face. We will play 4-3-3 or with two strikers like now, we will see that when we know the offensive and defensive potential of the next rival”.

Sporting Cristal lost 1-0 to Sport Huancayo as a visitor in the debut of League 1

For his part, the attacker Sporting Cristal Irven Avila He referred to the defeat against Sport Huancayo and stated that he has a negative feeling about the result.

“(We stayed) with a bitter feeling. We were in a hurry at the moment of finishing the play and measuring the final pass in height, which is totally different, but I think the game that was worked and planned was made. We covered the spaces and created goal situations, but we weren’t fine”, said the Sporting Cristal striker.

The only goal of the game was scored by Sport Huancayo midfielder Jimmy Pérez with a powerful shot from outside the area that overcame the resistance of goalkeeper Renato Solís in the 39th minute.

Sporting Cristal will face Melgar next Sunday, February 13 at the Alberto Gallardo stadium in Lima for date 2 of the Opening Tournament of League 1.

For its part, Sport Huancayo is measured against Atlético Grau as a visitor at the Bernal Municipal Stadium for matchday 2 of the Peruvian championship.
