The leaders discussed different issues of national interest, but apparently in the last hours, this strengthened relationship was even more marked after the match between Colombia and Peru, yesterday in Barranquilla

From Peru, President Castillo spoke about the victory of the Inca country over the tricolor, an important and historic result that succumbs in history after an agony of 20 years for Peruvians in Barranquilla. Castillo sent a message to his team congratulating them on their process and the good result, but also added a message to President Iván Duque in the face of an apparent bet between the two of them.

Since the colonial era, the two countries have marked an important precedent regarding the bilateral relations that have taken place, although, at the beginning of the last century there were discrepancies due to the division of the territory in the Colombo-Peru border, with the passing of the Over the years relations have been strengthened and that dividing line of the Amazon has turned the two countries into brothers.

Since 1994, with the signing of the Peruvian-Colombian neighborhood and integration commission, common binational cabinets have been developing that seek to work on political ideas on aspects of inequality, economic integration, and cooperation between the two countries that seek to reduce poverty and project economy of both within the region.

In the penultimate binational meeting held in the city of Pucallpa in Peru, they sought to address issues of migration and environmental protection with direct links to the Amazon, as well as the border security component to address the crisis of drug trafficking and illegal mining on the border between the two territories.
