Paul and Booker lead Suns to 9th straight win

PHOENIX (AP) — Devin Booker scored 29 points, Chris Paul had a triple-double and the NBA-leading Phoenix Suns beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 134-124 on Friday night.

Paul had 21 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds as Phoenix scored its ninth victory.

Cam Johnson — who recently moved into the starting job due to injuries to several key players — hit back-to-back 3-pointers midway through the fourth quarter to help the Suns beat a struggling Wolves.

Johnson finished with 23 points. He provided the assists for another pair of 3-pointers in the closing stages, one by Landry Shamet and one by Paul.

Phoenix played without starters Deandre Ayton, suffering from a sprained right ankle; Jae Crowder, who suffered a bruised left wrist, as well as two notable substitutes: JaVale McGee, who has a knee injury, and Cameron Payne, who sprained his right wrist.
