The National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) will start in person, the school year January-June 2022-2 next Monday, January 31 in 24 states of the country, attached to the provisions of the federal Health and Education authorities, as well as the institution’s Human Phased Back to School Program (PEHRC).
According to the Institute, academic activities will be resumed, in their entirety, in 90 units distributed throughout the national territory, where around 16,000 teachers and more than 9,000 Education Support and Assistance workers work.
“During the period of confinement of almost two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the provision of educational services was maintained through the Virtual Academic Continuity Program, and with the use of information and communication technologies as enablers and transformers of learning processes, at all levels of training”, reported the educational institution through a statement.
The polytechnic authorities assured that the return to the classrooms considers the Comprehensive Return to Activities Plan (PIRA), presented and approved by the Technical Advisory School and Postgraduate Collegiate Councils of each academic unit and research center, to guarantee a safe return to the more than 221 thousand students of the upper middle, higher and postgraduate levels of the institution.
The process, the IPN recalled, is the continuation of the gradual return that began in laboratories and workshops in September 2021 in schools, in accordance with the provisions of the federal and local governments.
“The IPN respects the different positions and opinions of the polytechnic community on the occasion of the return to face-to-face classes; however, it calls for them to return to their schools where Sanitary measures and the protocol for the prevention and management of possible infections will be implemented in its facilities, to fully preserve the health of students, teachers, education support and assistance staff, and management staff”, concluded the institution.
Sanitary measures for back to school
For the semester 2022-1, the National Polytechnic Institute released the Comprehensive Return to Activities Plan (PIRA), where the following measures are established:
*Attendance registration by QR input and output
*Temperature taking at the entrance of the facilities, both teachers, PAAE and students
*The material resources department will delivery of a kit to each area with a refillable atomizer with sanitizer, a flannel and a bottle of antibacterial gel

*Avoid crowds at entrances and exits

Meanwhile, the Back to School Humane Phased Program (PEHRC) indicated that the actions that will be carried out in all educational units once they return to the classroom will be:
*Informative meetings at all IPN facilities, to know and execute the project in an optimal way and clearly indicate the conditions of return of the community of your unit, including personnel and program
*Indicate, through distinctive signs, the exit, entrance, medical and psychological service, flow of people and gel dispensers
*Promote the division of groups of people into subgroups, to meet the maximum capacity and schedule them according to the capacity of the activity area. The maximum capacity is estimated by dividing the total area by 2.25m2, marking the positions of each person
* Promote and verify that, at the end of the activity, the work area is empty to carry out the cleaning and disinfection work, respecting schedules and thus avoid crossing the students who enter with those who leave
*Have a strict control of staff and students who may enter to the facilities, and avoid the entry of people who are not in the list of Assistants. If you require the entry of an external person, do so outside of student hours.
