After the scandal that unleashed the case of the body of baby Tadeo, which was found on January 10 inside the Center for Social Reintegration (Cereso) in San Miguel, Puebla, the State Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) has already appointed a new prison director. And it is that there has not been a headline for seven months, the last one had been Jaime Mendoza Bon, who was imprisoned for acts of corruption.

This is María del Rayo Mendoza Farfán, who has extensive experience in the field of law enforcement. She is a lawyer with a master’s degree in Legal Psychology and Criminology, and a doctorate in Gender and Law. His most recent work career is in the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), where he has worked since 1999.

It is worth mentioning that during her position as prosecutor, she was strongly criticized for the delay in concluding two cases: the homicide of a minor in the region, in May 2021, and a massacre that occurred in Pahuatlán on the same day.

Upon his arrival at the San Miguel Prison, Mendoza Farfán received from the Morenista governor Miguel Barbosa the task of putting order in the prison in Puebla, where self-government prevails and where the expectations of the citizens remain attentive to the latest events.

In this sense, the new director’s objective is that the activities in the penitentiary are carried out with respect for human rights and in total legality, which allows the correct social reintegration and under strict operating procedures.

This appointment is added to the other new appointments in the SSP, with Daniel Cruz Luna in charge of the unit and Jorge Pérez Melchor in charge of the Undersecretary of Penitentiary Centers of Puebla.
