New world of work: Airbnb registers long bookings

Last year, 100,000 Airbnb customers booked stays of three months or more, Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky said on Twitter. The head of the apartment broker predicts that people will spread out over thousands of cities and spend weeks or months there. Some would also give up their rental apartments entirely and become “digital nomads”.

Cities and countries will compete to attract these remote workers, and that will change where people travel and live, Chesky said. “For the first time, millions of people can live anywhere.” This is a consequence of working from home, the AirBnB boss wrote on Twitter.
