Ahn Cheol-soo, the presidential candidate of the People’s Party, is showing a negative perception of labor one after another by pointing arrows at the time-off system for civil servants and teachers following the labor director system in public institutions.

On the 24th, Candidate Ahn posted an article on his social networking service (SNS) with the title of ‘Part 2 of the detailed policy of the Confederation of Trade Unions Revolutionary Series’, saying, “If the public official/teacher time-off system is implemented, the national blood tax of up to 62.7 billion won will increase every year. It should be put in,” he said. The time-off system for public officials and teachers has now passed the bill review subcommittee of the Environment and Labor Committee of the National Assembly.

The Korean Federation of Trade Unions (KCTU), which directly targeted the Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU), demanded it as a candidate for both parties, as well as candidates Lee Jae-myung (Democratic Party) and Yun Seok-yeol (People’s Power) who accepted the request were also put on the board.

Candidate Ahn pointed out, “The labor union, including the Confederation of Trade Unions, has been demanding that the time-off system be applied to civil servants and teachers’ unions as well,” said Candidate Ahn.

He said, “The attitude of the two party candidates towards the time-off system is another labor populism following the labor director system, which has been noticed by the established labor community, not the entire workforce. We will take action.”

Candidate Ahn argued on the 22nd in the ‘Part 1 detailed policy of the Confederation of Trade Union Revolutionary Series’ that “I will completely suspend the implementation of the labor director system to prevent the Confederation of Trade Unions from being destroyed.” The labor director system was also strongly demanded by the Confederation of Trade Unions, but it was directly linked to the Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU).

Candidate Ahn showed a critical view by linking the ‘KCTU = vested interests union = strong aristocratic union = labor populism’ in a message related to labor. In another article on the same day, he aimed at the people’s general uprising hosted by the National People’s Action, which consists of labor, peasant, and poor groups, including the KCTU, on the 15th, saying, “The core of the KCTU under the guise of the labor movement is Korea’s highest vested interest in maintaining their privileges. “If elected, I will not neglect the laws and illegalities of the strong aristocratic union.”
