Bodycams are supposed to have a de-escalating effect

In Cologne, employees of the public transport company (KVB) will be using bodycams on buses and trains in the future. In a one-year pilot project, 20 employees will be equipped with cameras. “We rely on bodycams because there have been good experiences with them both in our industry and, for example, with the police,” says KVB CEO Stefanie Haaks. The employees volunteered to take part in the pilot project.

Assaults are becoming more common. In many cases, the verbal attacks and the refusal to comply with requests from the KVB employees.
