Hospitals see no wave of layoffs due to compulsory vaccination

Contrary to fears, the introduction of occupational vaccinations has apparently not led to an increase in the number of layoffs among medical staff. “Currently, we have not received any reports from the hospitals about possible layoffs due to the mandatory vaccination that will apply from March 15,” said the CEO of the German Hospital Society, Gerald Gass, of the Düsseldorf “Rheinische Post”. The vaccination rate in hospitals nationwide is very high at more than 90 percent, explained Gass. However, there are regional differences. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out “that problems may also arise at individual locations”. The hospital operators are therefore doing everything they can to do educational and informational work these days in order to get as many employees as possible to be vaccinated.
