INE responded to Sheinbaum: “It is false that staff pet food is paid”

After the head of the Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, blamed the National Electoral Institute (INE) for the misuse of public resources and ensure that the budget is used to feed the staff’s pets, the electoral body responded and denied the accusations.

Through its official Twitter account, the Electoral Institute reported that It is false that the food of the staff’s pets is paid, although he clarified that there are security dogs trained to identify explosives.

In the message, the agency recalled that it is not the only one in Mexico that has trained dogs, since institutions such as the Banking and Industrial Police (PBI) of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City have them and they use part of their budget for their care.

“It is false that @INEMexico pays for the food of the staff’s pets. The Institute has security dogs trained to identify explosives, as other organizations and governments have, an example of this is the Banking and Industrial Police of the @SSC_CDMX”

Likewise, the president counselor of the INE, Lorenzo Cordova Vianello, spoke on his social networks about the accusation of Sheinbaum Pardo and, without referring to her, criticized people who distort information.

“How important it is, in these times of ‘post-truth’ and opportunism, to inform promptly and disprove those who distort information to try to position themselves politically. Good for the clarification @INEMexico”, he wrote in his official account.

And it is that at the end of the inauguration of PILARES Topiltzin in the Coyoacán Mayor’s Office, the president of the capital attacked the electoral body for not adjust to the austerity plan that the Federal Government designed to carry out the consultation of the Revocation of Mandate, proposed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).
