AMLO tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time: “I will remain in isolation”

The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time in the pandemic. His first contagion was contracted in January 2021 and announced on the 25th of that month.

Through a message on his Twitter account, the Mexican president confirmed his positive case and clarified that have mild symptoms, but will remain a few days in isolation under medical treatment. He also confirmed that he will perform office work and attend to matters virtually until he tests negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

“I inform you that I am infected with #COVID19 and although the symptoms are mild, I will remain in isolation and will only do office work and I will communicate virtually until I get ahead“He wrote on the social network this Monday afternoon.

In a second message, the president clarified that who will be in front, in person, of the Government of Mexico during the usual morning conference, as well as some acts that were agreed upon, will be Adán Augusto López Hernández, head of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob). He ended his tweet wishing “Courage!” to the population and sending “the affection of always”.

“Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, will represent me at press conferences and other events. Courage, with the usual affection! “
