Melbourne (Australia), Jan 10 (EFE) .- The Granada-born Nuria Párrizas continued to beat the French Alizé Cornet in the first round of the Adelaide 2 tournament by a double 6-4.
Both tennis players conceded the same number of break balls (10), but it was Párrizas who scored two ‘breaks’ ahead in a match in which they broke serve up to eight times.
Her next rival will be known after the conclusion of the match between Russia’s Luidmila Samsonova (8) and Egyptian Mayar Sherif on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old Spanish tennis player arrived in the capital of South Australia after playing her first quarter-final on hard court in WTA competition in which she lost to Russian Daria Kasatkina on Margaret Court in Melbourne Park.
