An alleged member of the Michoacan Family was detained by elements of the Investigation police (PDI) de Atlacomulco, as he would be responsible for several homicides carried out in the area, including a triple homicide committed in 2021, as reported by the head of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico, Alejandro Gómez Sánchez.
“Elements of the Investigative Police (PDI) of the Atlacomulco Regional Prosecutor’s Office, of this State Attorney General’s Office (FGJEM), completed an arrest warrant against Jose Luis “N”, who apparently is a member of the criminal group Michoacan Family and is investigated for his probable participation in the crime of qualified homicide”The statement read.
José Luis “N” was detained in the Atlacomulco Penitentiary and Social Reintegration Center, where a judge will review his case and determine his legal situation. the FGJEM has already presented the evidence collected in the investigation against him.
The investigations corresponding to his case were initiated after the murder of a person in the community of The purest, in the municipality of Ixtlahuaca, State of Mexico, place in which a taxi driver was shot when he was towing a motorcycle driven by another subject.
When the victim was at the height of a sports field, the detainee and an accomplice of his approached him to ask about the route to another nearby municipality, whereupon he stopped his taxi to respond, which José Luis “N” took the opportunity to fire your firearm, taking the life of the taxi driver instead of the facts.
In the same way, the FGJEM indicated that it could be responsible for other crimes that occurred in the region, such as a triple homicide happened on September 13, 2021, of which the authorities have not revealed details; and one aggression against Investigative Police personnel, which occurred on December 17 of last year in Ixtlahuaca, State of Mexico.
This attack against five elements of public safety was registered in the nearby town of Emiliano Zapata, place where they were attacked by firearms, for which they responded in the same way to the attackers, managing to get out of the incident alive.
After initiating investigations into these violent events, the prosecution found that the accused also worked for the Michoacan Family, well was dedicated to charging at various points of sale of the entity, as reported by the agency:
“It is worth mentioning that according to the investigations initiated by the FGJEM, it has been established that this individual appears to be a member of the criminal group Familia Michoacana and his work consisted of collect money from the different drug outlets in the municipalities of Ixtlahuaca and Jiquipilco”The statement read.
Two weeks before the arrest of José Luis “N”, a federal judge handed down a sentence against Alfredo Cerón Rodríguez, Bald, another member of the Michoacan Family who will pass 14 years in prison upon being found guilty of the crimes of organized crime and of carrying a firearm for the exclusive use of the Army, Navy and Air Force.
The bald man was one of the members of The Aboytes, a cell of hitmen belonging to the cartel, which operated in the State of Mexico and is responsible for at least 60 homicides, which were committed by the criminal’s accomplices, captured in March 2011 and identified as Óscar Arzate Bernal or Camilo Práxedis Hernández, The Mojo, and Gerardo Cruz Adame, The Maruchan.
