The New York Stock Exchange opened higher on Thursday, after setting records for the Dow Jones and S&P 500 on Wednesday, in a market with very few transactions before the end of the year.
Minutes after the opening, the Dow Jones star index gained 0.34% and the Nasdaq, with a technological component, 0.07%. For its part, the S&P 500 – of the top 500 companies on the stock market – rose 0.17% after reaching its 70th record of the year on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, the Dow Jones gained 0.25%, closing at 36,488.63 points, while the S&P 500, by just two points, also reached a record, the third in a week, at 4,793.06 units (+0.14 %). The Nasdaq already lost 0.10% (at 15,766.22 units).
