On December 21, relatives of Alexis Francisco Cervantes Guerrero, professional player of the National Professional Basketball League of Mexico (LNBP), they lost contact with the basketball player and did not know anything about his whereabouts until this December 29 when authorities of Michoacan they found him alive.
The Michoacán State Attorney General’s Office confirmed the rescue of the athlete on Wednesday morning. State authorities detailed that after an intense search in the municipality of Venustiano Carranza, Michoacan, elements of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP), National Guard, of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) and municipal police found the whereabouts of Alexis Cervantes along with Marcos S., a taxi driver who was transporting the basketball player at the time of his disappearance.
According to sources close to the FGE a interinstitutional operation to find the location of Alexis and the taxi driver he was traveling with, since both had been missing for the same days.
The police mobilization included the Western Region of the Michoacan territory. The search was carried out by air and land until Michoacán police officers found the two people tied to a tree. The area is a route that connects the town of San Pedro with the municipality of Venustiano Carranza.
