Mexico.- Mexico announces that it will provide visas to migrants who cross the country to reach the US


The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) of Mexico announced this Friday that the National Migration Institute (INM) will provide visas to migrants who cross the country to reach the United States and is committed to respecting the Human Rights of people that make up the caravan.

In a statement from the Ministry of the Interior, the Mexican authorities have assured that an internal count will be carried out so that the identification documents issued are respected. In this context, a list of the members of the caravan will be drawn up, giving priority to girls and boys, the full name, the country of origin and the request of the migrants about whether they want to remain in the country or transit through it will be noted. .

“The table was held in a climate of respect and understanding. It was agreed to continue with the dialogue in order to meet their requirements within a framework of legality and with unrestricted respect for their Human Rights,” the secretary of the Government, Adán Augusto López Hernández.

Likewise, the CNDH has indicated that a meeting will take place in mid-January to carry out a follow-up and analyze the progress.

“Now it is everyone’s turn to make the agreement of that document a reality, it is what we are committing to and, in the case of the Government, to be a guarantor that all parties comply with what corresponds to each.
