PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Damian Lillard scored a season-high 43 points and the Portland Trail Blazers snapped a seven-game losing streak by beating the Charlotte Hornets 125-116 on Friday night. .
Ben McLemore added 28 points for the Blazers, hitting six of his eight 3-pointers in the first two quarters. Portland set a franchise record with 16 triples in that half of the game.
The Blazers went into halftime with an 81-55 lead.
LaMelo Ball led the Hornets with 27 points, in what was the game that marked their return after remaining in the NBA’s coronavirus protocols.
The Hornets cut a 29-point deficit to less than 10 in the fourth quarter.
Kelly Oubre hit a layup to bring Charlotte closer to 118-112 with 1:12 left. However, McLemore hit a triple that put Portland ahead 121-112.
