Daniel Soria Luján, State Attorney General, denounced the president of the Peru, Pedro Castillo before the National Prosecutor’s Office for the alleged crimes of illegal sponsorship and influence peddling. This complaint is related to the Provías case and the goodwill contract that was awarded to the consortium related to Karelim López. As is known, the businesswoman is close to the former secretary of the Government Palace, Bruno Pacheco and he held a series of meetings with the president at his home in Breña.
The complaint indicates that the meetings between López and Castillo were intended for the president to intercede so that the Puente Tarata III consortium obtains the tender for a work.
According to the document that was leaked to the press, the prosecutor Soria requests that “The initiation of preliminary proceedings, for the alleged commission of the crime against the public administration in the modalities of illegal patronage and influence peddling, included in articles 385 ° and 400 ° of the Penal Code respectively, both to the detriment of the Peruvian State, and must understand as investigated (…) José Pedro Castillo Terrones in his capacity as President of the Republic of Peru “.
