The authorities of Israel has notified this Friday about 850 cases of coronavirus during the last day, the highest figure in the last two months, amid a new rebound in the Asian country.
The Ministry of Health has detailed through its website that during the last 24 hours they have registered 854 contagions, for a total of 1.354.001 positive, with 8.230 deaths from COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
Likewise, he stressed that at the moment there are 6.509 active cases in the country, including 79 patients in serious condition, of which 55 are in critical condition, including fourteen who are connected to respirators.
On the other hand, it has stated that 6.438.554 people have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine so far, of which 5.815.475 they already have the complete guideline and 4.147.301 have received a third booster dose.
The arrest of the first cases of the omicron variant and the rebound in the numbers has led Israel to closing its border to most foreign nationals and imposing new restrictions on Israelis returning from countries with high contagion zones.
The Government has announced that as of this Friday the system of ‘green pass‘in shopping malls, which implies that people will have to present a vaccination certificate or a negative test to access.
However, the wave of criticism from the population and businessmen has led the Executive to immediately suspend its application, as reported by the newspaper The Times of Israel, although its imposition in the future is not ruled out.
