Kings smash hit Clippers 124-115

LOS ANGELES (AP) – De’Aaron Fox scored 24 points, Terence Davis finished with 23 and the Sacramento Kings beat a Los Angeles Clippers riddled with casualties 124-115 on Wednesday night.

Richaun Holmes had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Kings. The team snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 3-3 with interim coach Alvin Gentry after starting the season with a 6-11 record that cost Luke Walton his job last month.

Paul George had a break at the Clippers and Sacramento didn’t have too much trouble at Staples Center: He had a 20-point lead at the start of both halves and was never behind on the board.

But five Clippers backups drove in a 14-0 run in the closing minutes, with four Kings starters on the floor, cutting the gap to eight with 1:28 left on the final buzzer.

The Clippers have struggled to stay above .500 during the loss of Kawhi Leonard – who still has no return date after knee ligament surgery in July – and have relied on George, who scored at least 20 points in 17. of his first 21 games.

Luke Kennard scored 13 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter for the Clippers (11-11), who conceded their third loss in a row, the seventh in 10 games.
