The I Junior Pan American Games in Cali 2021 feature an inspired Colombian delegation, which partially reaches a total of 57 medals (20 gold, 13 silver and 24 bronzes), with which it is among the best five nations of the continent in the jousts of the capital of Valle del Cauca.
The national delegation took distance in disciplines of the Olympic cycle such as track cycling, weight lifting, swimming (diving and running) as well as archery and bowling which added 16 medals to the balance sheet.

The track cycling was one of the greatest joys to viewers who attended the iconic velodrome Alcides Nieto Patiño. The sprinter Lina Hernández, from the Advanced Development Project and member of Colombia Tierra de Atletas, won the gold medal in the women’s track cycling omnium, after beating her peers from Mexico and Argentina in the combined test.
For the male component, sprinters Cristian Ortega and Daniel Echeverri, both from the PAD training academy, achieved one-two, respectively, in the individual speed test.

From Palmira, the Colombian archers contributed new medals to the national delegation: In archery, the mixed recurve team, made up of Juan José Molina and Allyx Zuluaga, managed to climb the ranks of continental success to receive the bronze medal. Zuluaga herself, later on, repeated the podium to receive the silver medal for her performance in the individual recurve mode.
In bowling, Colombia experienced a double joy after seeing its athletes on the podium, male and female. After more than eight hours of competition for the double teams of both branches, the gold and bronze arrived to add more metals for Colombia in the general medal table. Felipe Gil and José Mora were left with the Pan American championship, while the pair of Sara Duque and Catalina Gómez were in third place.
In weightlifting, Angie Franco he took the glory with another silver for Colombia. In the male branch, Yeison Alfonso López and Luis Miguel Quiñones took first place, while in the women’s events, the weightlifter present in Talentos Colombia, Sirley Daniela Montaño, achieved another silver for the national medal table.
