RKI reports 45,326 new infections – an incidence of almost 400

The Robert Koch Institute reports 45,326 positive tests within 24 hours. That is 13,278 more cases than on Sunday a week ago, when 32,048 new infections were reported. The seven-day incidence rose again to a record 399.8 from 386.5 the previous day. The value indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants have been infected with the corona virus in the past seven days. 309 other people died related to the virus. This increases the number of reported deaths to 99,433 within one day. In total, more than 5.43 million corona tests have so far been positive in Germany.

Media: Belgium’s Prime Minister in quarantine

Belgium’s Prime Minister Alexander De Croo has quarantined himself, according to a media report. The reason was a previous meeting with France’s Prime Minister Jean Castex, who tested positive for Covid-19, reports the VRT broadcaster. De Croo is due to be tested on Wednesday.
