Dominican Republic summons 12 players to qualify for the 2023 World Cup

Santo Domingo, Nov 22 (EFE) .- Dominican coach Melvyn López announced this Monday the 12 players who will make up the national basketball team that will compete on November 28 and 29 in the First Qualifying Window of the Americas with a view to to the 2023 World Cup.
Those selected are Eloy Vargas, Gelvis Solano, Mike Torres, Andrés Feliz, Captain Víctor Liz, Gerardo Suero, Adonys Henríquez, Brandone Francis, Sadiel Rojas, Juan Guerrero, Jonathan Araújo and Jeromy Rodríguez.
The Dominican Republic team is part of group C of the continental qualifier along with the United States Virgin Islands, Canada and the Bahamas.
Training will begin this Wednesday in the Dominican capital, López explained in a statement, in which he valued the quality of his players.
On Sunday 28 the Bahamas and Canada, and the Virgin Islands and the Dominican Republic will face each other, who will play again a day later, with a match as a visitor and another at home at the Palacio de los Deportes in Santo Domingo.
The Basketball World Cup will be held in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines and America has seven places for the competition.
