London, Nov 22 (EFE) .- Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea coach, has advocated the renewal of Antonio Rudiger, who has just over half a year left on his contract and is reluctant to expand his ties with Londoners.
Clubs such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are interested in acquiring the services of the 28-year-old German center-back who will be able to start negotiating with teams from outside the British Isles from 1 January.
However, his manager, Tuchel, seems confident that Rudiger will end up staying in London.
“Right now he is 100% committed to Chelsea. I’m sure he feels the trust and respect of everyone at the club and the fans,” said Tuchel.
“He is a great competitor and is in the best place. He is in the most competitive league, a club in which he is the protagonist and that suits him perfectly. So we just have to be patient and hopefully there is a happy ending,” added the German technician.
What has prevented Rudiger from renewing his contract with Chelsea are his salary expectations, far from what the Londoners offer him, which would not place him as one of the best in the team.
