Hellas Verona beats Empoli 2-1 and extends unbeaten streak

ROME (AP) – Hellas Verona extended their unbeaten streak to five games on Monday after claiming a 2-1 victory over Empoli in Italian Serie A.

Adrien Tameze scored the winning goal for Verona on aggregate after a pass from Antonin Barak.

Barak had put Verona in front shortly after halftime, but Simone Romagnoli leveled the score for Empoli.

With the win, Verona moved to ninth in the table, while Empoli fell to 12th, replaced by Torino, who beat Udinese 2-1, who blew 18 shots on target.
