111-94. Sabonis and Pacers were superior to Pelicans; Willy, six points

Indianapolis (USA), Nov 20 (EFE) .- The Lithuanian power forward Domantas Sabonis obtained a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds as the leader of the attack of the Indiana Pacers, who beat the New 111-94 Orleans Pelicans, in a duel of teams with a losing mark.
The Pacers starters bounced back from being benched the night before and posted a win.
Coach Rick Carlisle decided to knock players out of the game midway through the third quarter of the loss at Charlotte, but this time the Indiana starters opened with 23 first-quarter points for a 32-19 lead against the Pelicans.
Carlisle criticized the selfishness of his starters on Friday and decided to stick with his reserves down the stretch at Charlotte, where a 25-point deficit was reduced to three in the final quarter of the game.
Guard Justin Holiday scored 17 and point guard Malcolm Brogdon had 16 for the Indiana team (7-11).
For the Pelicans (3-15), the best scorer was Sabonis’ compatriot, center Jonas Valanciunas, who had a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Naji Marshall had 14 points and power forward Brandon Ingram and reserve Kira Lewis each had 12 points.
The Spanish center Willy Hernangómez scored six points in six minutes granted by the Pelicans coach, Willie Green, by scoring 3 of 4 shots from the field, had five rebounds and provided an assist for the New Orleans team, being the player with the most effective of the Pelicans.
The player of Puerto Rican-Mexican descent José Alvarado obtained two points in 12 minutes of action, made 1 of 4 shots from the field and had two rebounds with the New Orleans team.
The Pelicans, who are yet to feature star power forward Zion Williamson, have lost 15 of their 18 games and are 1-9 on the road.
