COP26 adopted an agreement to accelerate the fight against climate change

Some 200 countries gathered at COP26 on Saturday adopted the “Glasgow Pact” to accelerate the fight against climate change and outline the bases of its future financing, but without guaranteeing the objective of limiting global warming +1.5 ºC.

Final approval of the text, after two weeks of tough negotiations, was sealed with a hammer blow from Alok Sharma, the British chairman of the negotiations.
