Vaccination status: VKU boss Liebing demands the employer’s right to information

“Unfortunately, the draft law does not answer the question of whether an employer has the right to know the vaccination or convalescence status of its employees. In view of the current pandemic situation, this leads to legal uncertainty, inefficient work processes and ultimately also to significantly poorer protection against avoidable infections, ”said VKU Managing Director Ingbert Liebing of the ZfK.

The Association of Municipal Enterprises (VKU) therefore demands a corresponding right to information for its municipal utilities. The VKU sent a letter with a corresponding appeal on Thursday to the parliamentary group chairman of the Ampel coalition as well as to Union parliamentary group leader Ralph Brinkhaus (CDU). “It is incomprehensible that this proof can be required for every visit to a restaurant or museum, while an employer is not allowed to ask for it,” continues Liebing.
