Further details have become known about the mass panic at a music festival in Houston. Five of the eight fatalities were under the age of 18, said Mayor Turner. The exact cause is still unknown.
After the mass panic at a Travis Scott concert, the mayor of Houston gave details of the accident. The eight fatalities were between 14 and 27 years old, said Mayor Sylvester Turner in a press conference. Five of you were under 18 years of age. 13 people would still be treated in the hospital.
It was a “tragedy on many levels,” said Turner. It is still too early to draw conclusions about the causes of the accident. There are many unanswered questions.
Hundreds of injured people were treated on site.
Eyewitnesses reported the crowd stormed onto the stage during a performance by Scott. The visitors were squeezed so tightly that some couldn’t breathe or move. The mass panic occurred during the two-day Astroworld Festival. Around 50,000 people were in Houston’s NRG Park event center.
