The European Union and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia are making more than 6 million euros available for setting up the “Bergische Ressourcenschmiede” on the former Leppe landfill site in Lindlar in Bergisch. This is announced by the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry for the Environment, Agriculture, Nature Conservation and Consumer Protection.
In the resource forge, the TH Köln and the Bergische Abfallwirtschaftsverband (BAV) would like to research innovations in the fields of recycling and resource protection and support their practical application. With the new project, the two institutions are building on the previous Metabolon project. At the location of the same name in the former Leppe landfill site, a waste disposal center was set up which, according to the FOT, is one of the most modern waste disposal sites in Europe and has become a reference point for an international specialist audience.
